Newton, MA – Valeo Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Meotis Erikson as its Director of the Girls Program. In this capacity, she will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of day to day operational activities for the girls program. In addition, she will develop comprehensive technical training to ensure consistency in the development of all players within the girls program at Valeo.
As a youth player, Meotis was a Member of the U16 U.S. National Soccer Team (1994-1995) and U21 National Team (1997-1999). In 1997, Meotis was the youngest member of the U21 U.S. National Team that won the Nordic Cup in Denmark. Meotis earned various honors through her High School career, where she was named 1996 National Soccer Coaches Association of America National High School Player of the Year, Gatorade National Player of the Year, and Parade Magazine Player of the Year. In addition, she was a three-time Washington State Player of the Year and three-time high school All-American.
She has been recognized as one of the most prolific scorers in the University of Notre Dame’s history, scoring 59 goals and registering 46 assists. Upon graduating, Meotis was the 11th pick in the inaugural (2001) WUSA college draft by the Boston Breakers.
In 2016, she was recognized as one of the top 18 female players in Washington State’s Youth Soccer’s history along with Michele Akers, Hope Solo, Amy Allman Griffin, and Lori Henry.
Meotis has a Bachelor of Communications, Film, TV and Theater degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Dual Masters in Elementary Education and Literacy from Lesley University.
Meotis is currently on her USSF Licensing pathway.
